Accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental process that includes an external review of a School’s capacity to offer high-quality programs. The most important and recognized accrediting associations for Business Schools in the world are: AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), and AMBA (Association of MBAs). Only 124 business schools in the world have triple accreditation (Triple Crown), which represents a competitive advantage and a guarantee of quality for students, faculty, employers, and partners.
Accreditations contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in management and business, as well as to the development of a culture of social responsibility and sustainability.

In 2011, the Business School of PUCPR became a member of AACSB. In 2014, it began the first stage of the accreditation process, called eligibility, and was approved in this phase in 2015. Since then, it has been six years participating in different stages to effectively be approved in the certification process in the second semester of 2021.
The decisive stage of the accreditation process consisted of a visit from an international committee of evaluators, which took place in August 2021.
The Business School of PUCPR was the 5th in Brazil to obtain certification from AACSB.
Currently, the Business School of PUCPR is a member of EFMD and intends to seek accreditation soon.
The EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is a European organization that evaluates the quality and relevance of management and business education.
EQUIS accreditation covers the entire business school and its programs but emphasizes international dimension, social responsibility, ethics, diversity, and sustainability.
The Business School of PUCPR, to be among the triple crowns, is already evaluating the possibility of obtaining accreditation from the Association of MBAs and thus being triple accredited.
The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is a British organization that evaluates the quality and relevance of MBA, DBA, and Master of Management programs.
AMBA accreditation focuses on postgraduate programs and not on the business school as a whole; but considers the context, strategy, mission, and vision of the institution.
