Cultural program moves online amidst COVID-19 pandemic
The PUCPR INTENSIVE PORTUGUESE COURSE has started yesterday (June 29th) in a different format from our traditional program: online and free of charges. Considering the pandemic situation, PUCPR International decided to offer online classes, and free of charges, to our partner’ students. During this edition, more than 40 international students got enrolled and are attending classes through PUCPR online platforms.
This program was structured in order to rapidly enrich the students’ knowledge of the language, while getting to know Brazilian culture and traditions. The international students may not come to Brazil and experience the Exchange program normally, however, we are making sure to introduce Brazilian cultural aspects and promote interaction with the students through support materials, and also with the help of iExchange group (group of PUCPR students who assist international students in Brazil).
During these times of quarantine, our institution had to become even more creative and look for alternatives to continue promoting internationalization in times of crisis. Changing this program to a different format, we make sure to stick to the institution’s priority: internationalization.
