PUCPR launches Joint PhD Program with Università degli Studi di Ferrara
On Monday, November 11th, PUCPR’s Philosophy Graduate Program (School of Education and Humanities) established a Joint PhD in Philosophy with the Università degli Studi di Ferrara (Italy) – a partnership that is part of the cooperation agreement between the two universities. The Steering Committee, made up of seven professors (four Brazilians and three foreigners) began the program evaluating and approving the first three students: two Brazilians and one Italian.
The program focuses on research in Transcendental Philosophy and is the PUCPR is pionner on this manner in Brazil. While Brazilian doctoral students will be welcomed in Ferrara, Italian academics will come to Brazil in order to conduct research, always guided by two professors – one from each institution. Therefore, students complete the program with double degree, and, in addition, activities are foreseen to integrate professors in research whose themes are of common interest.
